Turning off Popup Blockers
The Star Tree viewer opens in a pop-up window. Pop-ups must be allowed from this site for the tree hypothesis to display. Below are instructions to customize the pop-up blocker settings on the browsers supported by MultiTree.
On PCs
Firefox
Tools > Options > Content
Click Exceptions next to Block Pop-up Windows.
Add http://multitree.org/ to the list of Exceptions.
Internet Explorer
Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Pop-up Blocker Settings A dialogue box will appear. Add the MultiTree url (http://multitree.org/) to Address of website to allow. Click Add and Close.
Opera
Opera allows two ways to allow pop-up windows.
- Tools > Preferences > General
A dropdown is available inside the dialogue box. Select one of the following: Block unwanted pop-ups, Open all pop-ups, Open pop-ups in background. Click Ok. - Tools > Quick Preferences
Select one of the following: Block unwanted pop-ups, Open all pop-ups, Open pop-ups in background.
Note: Opera will automatically open a new tab for viewing a tree when either option Block unwanted pop-ups, or Open all pop-ups is selected as your preference. If, however, you select Open pop-ups in background, a new tab displaying the tree selection will appear, but the navigation to the new tab is not automatic.
On Macs
Safari
Safari > Block Pop-up Windows Click to ensure this menu option is disabled; it should appear without a check mark.
Firefox
Firefox has two ways to allow pop-up windows.
- Firefox > Preferences > Content
Deselect the option Block pop-up windows. This will allow all available pop-ups to appear in your browser. - In the above menu, select Block pop-up windows. Click Exceptions. Input the MultiTree URL (http://multitree.org/), click Allow and close the dialogue box. This allows pop-ups in your browser only from specified sites.
